Early Years Advice Centre

The Early Years and Childcare team have set up an office to assist with your queries about the new expanded nursery hours.

The way Early Learning and Childcare is delivered is changing with the hours you receive increasing to 1140 a year. This can either be taken as 30 hours a week during school term time or 23 hours and 20 minutes across the full year and you can now 'blend' your child’s care by choosing up to two providers. Blended care means you have the flexibility to share the funded hours across two providers.

The Council’s Early Learning and Childcare team will be available in the Howgate Shopping Centre to answer all your ELC queries and offer advice and support with your child’s application form.  Don’t miss this opportunity to come along and find out more about 1140 and how this impacts on your child’s early learning and childcare.

There will be events where you can bring your child along for a play, storytelling session and find out about some of the exciting initiatives that are taking place in our ELC establishments. The drop-in is also suitable for anyone interested in working in early learning and childcare! We will also hold information from each of our private partner nurseries and childminders in your local area.We hope you come along to meet the ELC team.

If you would like more information, please email [email protected]

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 4.30pm and 10am-4pm on Saturday 22nd February and Saturday 21st March. The office will close from 12.30om - 1pm for lunch.
